In this workshop students will create a lay flat hard cover journal, using a break away spine structure. This structure is a great starting point for those wanting to make hand bound hardcover journals at home. No book press or specialty equipment is required for this. All materials and tools are included in class. Choose from an assortment of cloth pieces for spines, paper covers, interior pages and sewing thread.
Students will leave with materials to make another book at home. I think it’s important to send students home ready to go onto their next book because materials prep is one of the hardest hurdles in bookbinding.
